A338 ROAD TRIP

I drove up the A338 towards Salisbury like an American Hobo in my Audi Roadster with the top down......well not actually -at minus 2C ...passing through Fordingbridge on the '70s by-pass there is the Tudor Rose fab refurbed and ready for business.....then into Breamore with the Bat and Ball roadhouse in new hands and totaly brialliant with Jason at the helm and doing great business- go there-..on to lovely Downton where I would like to live and swing the roadster in front of the White Hart with huge rooms and books on shelves and endless hospitality and food - oh yes - go there.....and on

THIS IS HAPPENING NEAR YOU........

You've got to visit the BOROUGH CAFE in Downton as soon as possible and say you're from Locallydoesit and they'll give you a free cuppa or a free sugar lump.....or something -just call in and see what happens.Your life might change there and then. It is the most excellent new fresh local cafe I've seen in ages .....its in the Borough next to the Co-op and two doors down from the well known pub - the White Horse with its shelves of books and vats of ale and all you could ever want ......in fact why not go and spend the weekend in Downton. I love it.

Salisbury Salisbury Salisbury-Whats on Salisbury?

Well that title should draw in the Google-bots like Uncle Andrew says..........Every company needs an Andrew and a Lissie and a Stuart. Between them they have built this wonderfully useful site. It is so useful you can sit for hours on the DFS sofa just wondering what to do next. You can peep over the horizon into the next door village to see what they are up to. You can metaphoricaly slope down to the Ship Inn, Burford and leaf through their delicious menus. Do you know what it's like?

CHRISTMAS IS COMING!

Before I start on Christmas, I just want to make a suggestion for browsing Locally. The website is designed to show what events are on on a daily basis. If you want to see what things are on in the future, click on Local Events and use the categories – music, dance, exhibitions etc. A list of future events will then come up for you to search through. I know this is self-evident but sometimes people don’t think about doing this!

CHRISTMAS

COMING UP!

Nine week course in Applique at the Walford Mill - 17 October - 12 December (Wednesdays)

First Blog on the new website!

This is my first proper blog on the new website and I am excited to share with you the brilliant events that are out there in our region!

EXHIBITIONS:

THE EXCITING RE-LAUNCH OF LOCALLYDOESIT!

Welcome to our new exciting website. There is so much going on out there, from plays, music, dance and film to fêtes, festivals, coffee mornings and plenty of children’s events of all kinds.

The object of the website is to introduce you to events that you might not have thought about. Instead of going straight to the Odeon website (also on Locally!) or the Tivoli (also on Locally) you might discover the Chalke Valley History Festival or the regular Folk Club evenings at the Elm Tree Inn near Ringwood.
